Cities and villages under daily heavy shelling from aircraft, artillery and missile strikes.
Yesterday the outskirts of Severodonetsk and Gorsky in the Luhansk region were shelled with phosphorous shells, large-scale destruction was inflicted.
In Rubizhne, a whole residential district burned down due to heavy gunfire, and almost all houses, from the rubber 10 people were rescued. A building of a medical institution was on fire in Severodonetsk
Today, as a result of a missile strike by the occupiers in the village of Cherkasy, 7 people were injured. Also, as a result of the missile hit, a multi-storey residential building will be damaged.
Morgues in Ukrainian-controlled cities are overflowing with bodies of dead civilians. Power outages or no electricity at all. So the bodies also lie in the basements.
It is impossible to store them, so in the short time between the shellings, volunteers and public utilities workers bury bodies in cities.
All cemeteries are on the outskirts and it is impossible to use them due to the shelling.
In Severodonetsk, pits are dug with a tractor and graves are systematized in the register. Every dead or deceased person is buried naturally in a separate grave, during the 48 days of the war - about 400 burials. Most are identified.
A new burial place has also been organized in Lysychansk. The dead are buried in mass graves.
Difficult situation in Popasna and Rubizhne. Due to the partial occupation of cities by the russians, the removal of bodies is impossible, burials are carried out by residents in the yards of residential sectors.
Due to the shelling, in certain areas, the bodies remain lying on the streets. Where there is access, bodies are collected and transported to cemeteries. They hide in special packages, write as much information about the person as possible on the plates.
The methodical extermination of Luhansk residents and settlements of the region falls under the definition of war crimes and crimes against humanity in accordance with Articles 7 and 8 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.
I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during Russia's Military Invasion of Ukraine and the expert mission set up by the OSCE participating States under the Moscow Mechanism to take into account these war crimes and crimes against humanity and human rights in Ukraine.
I call on international partners to close the skies over Ukraine and provide weapons to fight the aggressor country of Russia!
