Commissioner: occupied Kherson region on the verge of humanitarian catastrophe

Kherson and most of the Kherson region remain in the racist occupation for more than a month.

The region is on the verge of a humanitarian catastrophe.  106 settlements without electricity.

There are fewer and lack products and medicines, and the russian invaders are taking the last of the population.

There are no vital medicines for people with oncology or diabetes in the region.

The other day, the occupiers seized a humanitarian hub in Kherson, which was organized to help citizens and medical institutions in the region.  The racists confiscated medicines, baby food and diapers.

The abduction of pro-Ukrainian activists continues, according to the regional prosecutor's office, 137 people, including 4 journalists, are being held hostage by russian militants.

Locals note that an analogue of the Donetsk Isolation for torture of those who disagree with the occupation regime has appeared in Kherson.

The occupiers have blocked most of Ukraine's information channels and are spreading misinformation through racist media and social networks.

Such actions by the russian invaders in the temporarily occupied territories are a war crime defined by the Statute of the International Military Tribunal and the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, and a violation of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during Russia's Military Invasion of Ukraine and the expert mission set up by the OSCE participating States under the Moscow Mechanism to take into account these facts of war crimes and human rights violations in Ukraine.
