Commissioner: Since the beginning of the Russian invasion in Ukraine, 108 children have died and more than 120 children have been injured

As of 10 a.m. on March 17, 2022, according to the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations, as well as other sources that need to be confirmed, 108 children have died and more than 120 children have been injured since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began.

It is impossible to establish the actual number of dead and wounded children due to the fact that the occupying forces are actively fighting in Ukrainian cities.

In the Zaporozhye region, the russian military fired on a convoy of civilians evacuating from Mariupol.  5 people were injured, including two children.  One child is in critical condition.  He was operated on with the remote involvement of hospital “Okhmatdyt” doctors.

In the city of Mariupol, an educational institution was once again under artillery fire - the school was almost destroyed.

To date, 411 educational institutions in Ukraine have been damaged by shelling and bombing, 63 of which have been completely destroyed.

Such actions of the armed forces of the Russian Federation pose a direct threat to the life and health of the civilian population, contradict the norms of international humanitarian law and violate the fundamental rights of children - the right to life and health.

I insist, NATO countries - close the sky !!
