Commissioner: occupiers commit war crimes and acts of nuclear terrorism in Energodar

Rashists shot an employee of the Zaporozhye NPP. Yesterday, the occupiers broke into the apartment of Serhiy Shvets, an employee of the energy repair unit of the Zaporizhzhya NPP, and shot him with an automatic weapon.

With numerous bullet wounds, Serhiy was hospitalized in the city hospital of Energodar, where doctors are fighting for his life.

Sergei Shvets did not obey the criminal orders of the invaders, for which he almost paid with his own life.

Such actions by the russian occupying army are crimes against humanity and war crimes under Articles 7 and 8 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and a violation of the 1949 Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Civilian Persons in Time of War.

Irresponsible actions of the russian military at high-risk facilities are an act of nuclear terrorism and a gross violation of the Convention on the Prohibition of Military or Any Hostile Use of Environmental Influences and the 1977 Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions and Other Acts Regulating International Obligations  in the nuclear field.

I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during the russian Invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of war crimes and human rights violations in Ukraine.
