The racist occupiers are imposing a regime of terror and censorship in the occupied settlements of Ukraine

In Berdyansk, russian forces are harassing and intimidating journalists.  According to the Zaporizhia Regional State Administration, the occupiers rewrote the addresses of journalists and their relatives in Berdyansk.  They are forced to work for russian propaganda.  They threaten their children, parents and wives.

The occupying forces are trying to impose a regime of total intimidation typical of Russia and deprive the captured cities of their freedom of speech.

Obstruction of free journalism is a violation of the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts and its Additional Protocols and the Convention on the Laws and Customs of Land Warfare, which provide security guarantees for journalists.

I call on international human rights organizations to take all possible measures to increase pressure on the Russian Federation to end military aggression against Ukraine and to stop mass human rights violations.
