Held a meeting with Fredrik Weslau, Deputy Head of the European Union Advisory Mission to Ukraine, and Katri Linna, Adviser to the European Union Advisory Mission on Human Rights

Mr. Fredrico Wesslau expressed his gratitude for the information I provide daily to the EUMC and other international institutions on the humanitarian situation in Ukraine.  The information provided by me is also used when making decisions on providing assistance to Ukraine.

I told about the work of my Office and the free round-the-clock hotline of the Commissioner, which has so far been contacted by more than 45,000 citizens, including the search for 18,000 missing Ukrainians.  I receive about 700 complaints a day about war crimes and human rights abuses.

I asked the EUAM representatives to assist in the technical arrangement of workplaces for hotline workers to make it as convenient and accessible as possible for citizens.

The Deputy Head of the EUAM also proposed to provide psychological support to 32 operators to prevent emotional exhaustion, as their working conditions are extremely difficult.

Also emphasized the problem of forced deportation of Ukrainian citizens to russia, who, according to russian media, have already deported more than 1,400,000 people, including 250,000 children.

In addition, russia has deported more than 2,000 orphans and children deprived of parental care.  The russian duma has already developed amendments to the legislation that allow the adoption of Ukrainian children under a simplified and fast procedure.  After such adoption, their documents will be destroyed and it will be almost impossible to return these children to Ukraine.  Such actions of the russian federation fall under the definition of genocide of the Ukrainian people in accordance with Article 6 of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

Discussed the issue of registration of children who were forced to move outside Ukraine during the war in order to prevent violations of their rights and avoid the situation of child trafficking.

We continue to cooperate and exchange information to respect and protect the rights of Ukrainian citizens!
