The occupying country fires prohibited and especially dangerous weapons on peaceful cities of Ukraine

On the night of April 12, the russian occupiers fired phosphorous bombs at the village of Novoyakovlivka in the Komyshuva Territorial Community of the Zaporizhia Region.

Due to the rainy weather, the fire did not occur as a result of the shelling, no one was injured or killed.  There are damaged houses.

The use of phosphorus bombs is prohibited by the Geneva Convention relative to the Protection of Victims of War and the Convention on Certain Conventional Weapons.

A civilian car exploded on the Chernihiv-Kyiv highway, killing the driver.  The car hit an anti-tank mine.

As of April 12, 168 out of 1,500 settlements in Ukraine have been demined.

The use of such weapons of mass destruction against civilians is a crime against humanity and a violation of the 1949 Geneva Conventions.

I appeal to the UN Commission to Investigate Human Rights Violations during Russia's Military Invasion of Ukraine and the expert mission set up by the OSCE participating States under the Moscow Mechanism to take into account these war crimes and crimes against humanity and human rights in Ukraine.
