Commissioner: due to the actions of the Russian occupiers, the residents of the village of Vysokopillya in the Kherson region are on the verge of survival

Residents of the village of Vysokopillya in the Kherson region are forced to survive without drugs and food, suffering from torture and repression.

As a result of enemy shelling from Gradiv, the village on the border with Dnipropetrovsk region is without electricity, gas and drinking water.

In Vysokopillya all administrative buildings were destroyed, there is a lack of food and baby food.  Another problem of the residents is the lack of medicines.  There are many insulin-dependent, cancer patients and people with thyroid disease in the village.

Locals report the death of 25 civilians.

People are trying to leave the danger zone on their own vehicles, but due to the ban on the occupiers and the lack of fuel, it is almost impossible to do so.

In the Kherson region there is a critical situation with the evacuation of civilians from the zone of active hostilities and the delivery of humanitarian goods.  Despite the fact that Ukraine uses all opportunities to save people, safe routes are becoming less and less due to the obstacles of the occupiers.

By such methods of military action, Russia grossly violated the provisions of the Additional Protocol to the Geneva Conventions for the Protection of Victims of International Armed Conflicts (Protocol I) of June 8, 1977.

By restricting the freedom of movement of citizens, the invading country violates the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights of 1966, Article 12 of which guarantees everyone the right to freedom of movement.

I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during russia's military invasion of Ukraine to take into account these facts of war crimes and human rights violations in Ukraine.

I call on international partners to provide weapons to fight the aggressor country of russia!
