20,000 residents of the city of Izyum in Kharkiv region remain under fire from racist troops

Heavy fighting continues in the city, it is impossible to safely deliver any humanitarian aid, as well as to leave there.  Russian militants have repeatedly refused to open humanitarian corridors, covering their positions with citizens.

There is no connection with the residents.  It is also impossible to count the number of victims of enemy shelling and airstrikes.

The city suffered terrible damage.  Hospitals, kindergartens and about 80% of multi-storey residential buildings were completely destroyed.  There is no water, gas, heating, electricity or mobile communication in Izyum.

Residents of the city are forced to survive in hellish conditions.

Such treatment of civilians is a crime against humanity and a war crime as defined by the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court.

I appeal to the UN Commission for Investigation Human Rights Violations during Russia's Military Invasion of Ukraine and the expert mission set up by the OSCE participating States under the Moscow Mechanism to take into account these war crimes and crimes against humanity and human rights in Ukraine.
