Ms.Valeriya Lutkovska welcomes adoption of the Law of Ukraine "On amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On protection of public morality"

Welcoming adoption of the Law of Ukraine by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine "On amendments to the Law of Ukraine "On protection of public morality"(concerning state control), Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska noted that withdrawal of a number of norms from the Law of Ukraine "On protection of public morality" will bring the legislation in this sphere into compliance with the Constitution of Ukraine.

Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska: "The most important tasks of the Commissioner in realization of an anti-discrimination and protection of personal data are increase of level of legal awareness of the population"

The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights declared this thesis during a meeting with representatives of expert mission of the European Commission which arrived to Kiev in the context of fulfillment by Ukraine of the second phase of the EU Action Plan on Visa Liberalization for Ukraine. The purpose of stay of mission in Ukraine is the assessment of a state of implementation of the legislation in the sphere of protection of personal data, ensuring human rights, a freedom of movement and prevention of discrimination.

Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska repeatedly applied to the Prime Minister of Ukraine to evacuate children, elderly and people with disabilities

Following results of monitoring visits to Donetsk and Lugansk regions the Commissioner for Human Rights Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska once again applied to the Prime minister of Ukraine Mr. Arseniy Yatsenyuk to undertake immediate measures for evacuation of wards and the personnel of establishments of an education system, health care and social protection to safe regions of Ukraine. According to the Commissioner, these categories of the population are in the most difficult situation now.

Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska initiates admitting to bail of Ms. Nadezhda Savchenko

The Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights noted in the letter to the judge of Basmanny district court of the City of Moscow Ms. Natalya Dudar where it was said of necessity of change of a measure of restraint for Ms. Nadezhda Savchenko in connection with essential deterioration of her state of health, and also considering that in the conditions of a pre-trial detention center effective providing the appropriate medical care is impossible.

Ms. Valeriya Lutkovska insists on change of measure of restraint for Ms. Nadezhda Savchenko

Due to the essential deterioration of a state of health of Ms. Nadezhda Savchenko that threatens her life, and also considering that in the conditions of a pre-trial detention center effective providing the appropriate medical care is impossible, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights Ms.Valeriya Lutkovska applied to the judge of Basmanny district court of the City of Moscow Ms. Natalya Dudar with a request to change for Ms. Nadezhda Savchenko a measure of restraint in the form of detention for another, foreseen by article 98 of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation, not connected with detention.
