Other nineteen prisoners were transferred to the territory under the control of the Government of Ukraine

Today on September 14, 2017, there took place the next transfer of Ukrainian prisoners, serving sentences in prisons in the so-called “DPR”, who expressed a will to be transferred to the territory under the control of the Government of Ukraine to further serve their sentences. From places of the deprivation of liberty on the territory of the so-called “DPR” 19 prisoners were transferred.

In Khmelnytsk pre-trial investigation center prisoners sleep on the floor

On September 12, 2017 in the framework of activities of the National Preventive Mechanism officials of the Secretariat of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights jointly with civil society monitors conducted a follow-up visit to Khmelnytsk pre-trial investigation center. The overwhelming majority of violations that were found during the previous visit in 2013 remain relevant.
