In the case of forcible return of a citizen of Nigeria the court took into consideration an opinion of the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights

In the court proceeding upon a law suit of the citizen of Federal Republic of Nigeria against the Office of the State Migration Service (OSMS) of Ukraine in Ternopil Region on cancellation of the decision on forcible return to the country of origin and a check mark on forced return (in the national passport) the court has delivered an order.

Valeriya Lutkovska refers to the Head of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine with a proposal to cooperate on the issue of protection of the rights of Ukrainian journalists detained in Russia

In her letter to the Head of the National Union of Journalists of Ukraine Mr. Serhiy Tomilenko, the Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for Human Rights said: “In the context of proceedings, initiated by me, certain measures have been taken to release Ukrainian citizens illegally detained in Russian Federation. Such political prisoners are numerous but I would like to pay your particular attention to such individuals as Mr. Oleh Sentsov, Mr. Roman Sushchenko and Mr. Mykola Semena. They are journalists, activists, intellectuals, patriots”.

Ms Valeria Lutkovska met with Mr Akhtem Chiygoz, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People

On 30 October 2017, Ms Valeria Lutkovska, Ukrainian Parliament Commissioner for human rights, met with Mr Akhtem Chiygoz, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People, who was recently released in the occupied Crimea.
